Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

African-American boxing champion Jack Johnson starred in this sentimental silent melodrama about a loving son who takes the blame for a crime actually committed by his no-good but favored younger brother (Andrian Joyce). In order to save his mother (Mattie Wilkes) further embarrassment, Johnson goes to Mexico, where as the film's press-book states, "he blossoms forth as a prize-fighter." Returning home a wealthy and respected man, Johnson pays his brother's debt and is reunited with his faithful fiancee (Ruth Walker). Johnson, whose film career was dogged by a rape conviction, died in a car accident in Raleigh, North Carolina, in June of 1946.
