Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Robert Wayne (William Farnum) and his brother-in-law are swindled by Howard Stratton (Herbert Frank) -- Stratton gets Wayne's sister Edith (Anna Lehr) embroiled in an affair, and when Wayne goes to save her, he misses an important meeting which causes his brother-in-law to lose control of his company. Then Wayne tries to get Edith's letters from Stratton, who is killed in the ensuing struggle. Wayne is sent to prison, but asks to be released to fight in World War I. He meets and falls in love with a Red Cross nurse, Mary Fenton (Ruby deRemer), and later becomes a hero in Europe. He returns home because he has been wounded and proposes to Mary. Her uncle, David Sterling (Marc Robbins), protests, since he was the one who granted Wayne's parole. Edith finally confesses her part in the affair with Sterling so that Wayne will be cleared of the crime and become free to wed Mary.
