Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
The second of six 2-reel melodramas directed by actor Lon Chaney for Universal's "Victor" brand in 1915, this film was yet another variation on the naive mountain girl succumbing to Big City wolves. J. Warren Kerrigan played an artist who eventually saves the girl (Vera Sisson) from a blackmailer. The trade paper Moving Picture World found the story "very conventional and not particularly attractive in setting." Chaney, obviously, had a brighter future in front of the camera than behind. Chaney reportedly earned $45 a week at this time in his career, acting, directing and moving props...whatever was needed.
