Synopsis by Mark Deming

A bunch of guys find that the game of poker is being complicated by the game of love in this independent comedy. For the past ten years, Bill (Ray Porter), an author currently wrestling with writer's block, and several of his friends have enjoyed a weekly ritual of an all-night poker game every Friday night. However, Bill's buddies are going through some changes, and one night their game begins to pointedly reflect them. Andy (Dion Luther) asks if it's OK to bring a friend from work to play; the guys say "yes," only to discover that the "friend" is an attractive woman named Liz (Melissa Lechner). Liz also happens to be an excellent poker player, which doesn't make Bill any happier about her presence, nor does Andy's news that he and his girlfriend have gotten engaged. Gordon (Thomas Napier) confesses to Andy that he's been having an affair with the girlfriend of his pal Ty (Mike Cudlitz); Ty, on the other hand, informs Andy that he's been sleeping with Gordon's girlfriend. Nebbishy Karl (David Teitelbaum) has developed a furious crush on the woman who delivers his pizza and is baffled about what to do. And Blake (Matt Foyer), an actor, is currently appearing in a play as Henry Kissinger, and has started "living the role" to the point that he arrives at the game as the former National Security Adviser. In case you're wondering, the title Follow the Bitch comes from a poker game, also known as "Follow Mary" or "Follow the Queen," in which Queens are wild.
