The history of Canadian aviation was thoroughly covered in this four-part documentary series. Much of the footage was devoted to Canada's aerial contributions in WWII, a topic previously explored in the American theatrical feature Captains of the Clouds (1974). Also given ample air space were the country's various flying medical services, which shipped out vital medicines and medicos to the outermost Provinces. Originally telecast on the CBC's Sunday-night schedule from September 19 to October 10, 1976, Flight: The Passionate Affair was rerun from May 10 through 24, 1981.
