Synopsis by Cammila Collar
This documentary profiles pop icon and gay activist Brion Gysin in his creation of the so-called Dream Machine -- a device designed to emit light that flickered in a pattern that would cause the brain to produce alpha waves and enter a dream state. Hoping to help subvert thought, Gysin took his machine to many famous artists and musicians, who had strong creative reactions to the Dream Machine's effects.
