Synopsis by Mark Deming

In 1967, Fleetwood Mac was an upstart British blues band featuring hotshot guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer. By 1975, the group was based in California. Green and Spencer were long gone from their lineup, and the addition of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham had given the group a new pop-oriented lease on life. In 1994, Buckingham, Nicks, and Christine McVie were all out of the band, and Fleetwood Mac's future looked shaky at best. Three years later, the lineup of the band that recorded Rumours reunited for a wildly successful concert tour and live album, putting one of the biggest acts of the '70s back on the charts 20 years on. Fleetwood Mac: Unbroken Chain - Unauthorized is a documentary which traces the often difficult path of Fleetwood Mac's career through interviews with experts and acquaintances. Please note this program was created without the participation of Fleetwood Mac and features no music or performances from the group.
