Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A contented homemaker's picturesque life is turned upside down with the arrival of an unexpected houseguest in director Brett Wagner's debut feature Five Years. Conformably living the quiet life in a small Ohio town of New Russia, expectant mother Renee Unger's (Kris Carr) husband Eric (Timothy Altmeyer) owns a prospering construction business and her life seems to be a waking dream until the arrival of Eric's brother Colson (Todd Swenson). Recently released form juvenile prison after serving a five-year sentence for murder, Colson's haunting presence proves as deeply unsettling to Renee as her husband's growing obsession with tracking his brother's every unpredictable move. As secrets begin to boil to the surface and tensions rise, Renee is suddenly left alone as the brothers mysteriously disappear. Now, with an empty heart and a head full of unanswered questions, Renee must summon the courage to step outside her comfort zone and confront the crumbling foundation of her previously ideal life.
