Director Michael Matthews incorporates aspects of Spaghetti Western cinema into his post-Apartheid South African action thriller. A young man abandons his four childhood friends in Marseilles, a railroad town, after killing two policemen during the Apartheid. When he returns years later, his wish to give up his criminal ways are thwarted by the discovery that two of his childhood friends have become oppressive local figures.
