Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Originating as a local TV series in Northern Ireland, the children's game show First Class was picked up by the full BBC network in 1984. Hosted by former Miss United Kingdom Debbie Greenwood, this was one of the earliest computer-technology game programs, with interactive segments for the kids at home, and a "spinning golden disc" (actually a CD) which dispensed questions, challenges, prizes, and surprises. While the series featured a house computer named Eugene who posed general-knowledge questions to the contestants, much of the program relied upon home-computer technology already developed by Konami and other such firms. First Class was seen on a weekly basis until 1987.
