Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The Canadian series Final Audition consisted of four 60-minute segments, spotlighting the finalists in the DuMaurier Cigarettes Search for Talent Competition. Of the 15 aspiring performers seen in the first three programs, the five who made the absolutely final cut squared off in the fourth episode. Win or lose, most of the contestants ended up working for the CBC network, usually in a backstage capacity. Taped at Toronto's Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Final Audition was broadcast on a triweekly basis from March 31 to May 19, 1978.
