Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Hungarian director Frigyes Ban handles a popular topic in Eastern European cinema -- the conflict between a farmer who wants to remain independent and the push to join a farming collective. In this weak attempt at combining light comedy and heavy meaning, the rebellious farmer, Balogh (Antal Pager) is no easy man to convince. In the end, he takes his case all the way up to the Minister of Agriculture and eventually comes back home ahead of the game -- yet he does join up with the collective.
