Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is the subject of this documentary featuring the investigators, historians, writers, and workers who know the long-established consumer protection agency best. Established in the late-1800s, the FDA works to ensure that consumer products are both safe and effective. In this film, we witness the members of the agency as they work with customers and industry figures to conduct research, and draw informed decisions about products being marketed to the masses. Interviews with former FDA Commissioner Donald Kennedy, FDA Historians John Swann and Suzanne White Junrod, and others highlight a documentary that offers an unbiased account of an agency that's still a mystery to many Americans.
