Synopsis by Hal Erickson
MTV's Fast Inc. was a celebrity-studded effort focusing on Fast Ashley's, a popular auto-procurement shop originally headquartered in Brooklyn but latterly located in Los Angeles (where, it was explained, finding old cars in good shape was somewhat easier). The establishment's owner, Todd Ashley, presided over a three-man team from his home in the desert community of Joshua Tree. Ashley and his loyal sidekicks, Christian Camargo and Tater Wilson, spent most of the series hunting for vintage and "muscle" cars at the behest of a variety of A-list actors, singers, producers, and photographers. In the opening episode, for example, the trio was hired to locate a classic BMW for Jennifer Love Hewitt -- within a network-imposed limitation of four days. Sometimes, of course, finding the car was easier than making it "road ready," but Ashley and company never turned down a challenge -- nor did they ever fail to meet one. The weekly, half-hour Fast Inc. premiered June 5, 2006.
