Miho Shinohara is like a lot of nine-year-old girls; she likes to draw pictures and she wants to be famous someday. Then, seemingly in response to her own wishes, she is given the gift of a magic sketchbook. Some of the things that she draws in it come to life, and soon, Miho has created a teenage alter-ego of herself that she can change into in the blink of an eye. Now Miho is living a double life, switching between her nine-year-old self and her older self, whom she's named Lala. Soon, Miho finds that she is living out her dream of being a pop star through Lala. But after getting a taste of fame, little Miho isn't so sure that it's what she wants for her "real" life.
