Synopsis by Hal Erickson
A brief replacement for the Canadian variety series Swing Gently, Fancy Free shared the same production personnel as its predecessor. Telecast on Thursday evenings, the series trafficked heavily in nostalgia, with an abundance of jazz, swing, and big-band tunes from past decades. Each episode re-created a specific year, with the regulars and the guest stars appropriately garbed in period costume. Fancy Free aired over the CBC from October 6 to December 29, 1960.
