Synopsis

Former 1960s flower children raise their kids during the conservative Reagan era in one of the best written and acted family sitcoms of the 1980s, a show that occasionally tackled serious issues such as racism and a parent's heart attack. Michael J. Fox won three consecutive Emmys for his portrayal of Alex, the suit-and-tie Republican student who adores William F. Buckley Jr. and devours the Wall Street Journal. Fox later married costar Tracy Pollan, who appeared as his college girlfriend.
