Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

This documentary seeks to discover what Polish youth of the late 1980s (1986-87) think and are up to. The filmmaker has sought out the 20,000 who have gathered at an outdoor rock concert to ask them what they think about the future. The music they are listening to has been classified by one reviewer as "post-punk nihilism with religious overtones." Local officials are also interviewed and express optimism that the youths will stay out of trouble. At the concert, a nude rock group performs while two priests hear confessions, and another group takes up money to relieve the hunger of the starving in Ethiopia. While little in the way of insight is achieved, the documentary does have considerable interest for those interested in trends in Polish life.
