Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Ingmar Bergman conducts interviews of the residents of Faaroe Island. With 700 mostly elderly inhabitants, the school is in danger of closing, and employment prospects for younger people are grim. The director makes a plea for help from the government to allow the islanders to remain, in the wake of rapidly changing political and social conditions.
