Part of the documentary series Eyes on the Prize 2, which investigates the more recent journey of the civil rights movement and provides a follow-up to the acclaimed Eyes on the Prize series, Eyes on the Prize 2: Back to the Movement (1979-83) discusses the state of affairs in the American black community. In Miami, a sense of helplessness leads to a major riot on the district of Liberty City. Meanwhile, in Chicago, Harold Washington is elected the first black mayor, and blacks feel supported and optimistic.
