Eugene Aram (Arthur Wontner) is a poor schoolteacher who contemplates the murder of a wealthy man. He inherits money and abandons his plans for killing the man. Eugene is charged with the crime when the intended victim ends up dead in this crime drama taken from the novel by Edward Bulwer Lytton.
