Synopsis by Nathan Southern
This documentary travels back in time to the dark days of Hitler's Third Reich, and examines how three brilliant European composers -Max Reinhardt, Kurt Weill and Meyer Weisgal - launched a musical revolt in response to the unspeakable evils and oppressions that faced them. They did so by creating the opera The Eternal Road, a monumental work designed to draw international attention to the plight of Jews, just prior to the Holocaust. This film chronicles the authorship and initial production of the work.
