Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Originally telecast by Britain's BBC and Ireland's RTA in June of 2001, this two-part, four-hour documentary charted the tempestuous history of Northern Ireland from "Bloody Sunday" in 1972 to the Good Friday Accords of 1998, with some speculation on the future of the region. The content of the series should be implicit from the episode titles: "Bomb and Ballot Box" and "Talking to Terrorists." Among the many eyewitnesses interviewed were former British PM Margaret Thatcher, President Bill Clinton, and a number of prominent Irish politicians and activists. Endgame in Ireland was broadcast by PBS in the United States beginning July 7, 2002.
