Emerson, Lake & Palmer: Pictures at an Exhibition (1970)

Synopsis by Mark Deming
Progressive rock heroes Emerson, Lake & Palmer were one of the first rock & roll bands to successfully incorporate classical themes into their repertoire, and this video preserves a 1970 concert taped for television broadcast in which the group performed their adaptation of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition in its entirety. (Interestingly, this show was performed two years before ELP's well-known live album centered around the same piece would be released.)
