Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
This uneven and sometimes confusing drama is about a young illiterate who leaves Egypt to go to Germany to find work. There, he develops his boxing abilities and through luck and effort, he gains and loses a fortune. The man was a member of the illegal Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and exactly how his more fanatical religious beliefs fit in with an analysis of why Egypt and Syria lost the 1967 war with Israel remains obscure, as do the reasons for some of the sudden plot shifts.
