Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Recalling the work of Douglas Sirk, Andres Wood's romantic melodrama is about bitter love and sweet justice. Set in the early 1900s, the film focuses on Anita (Tamara Acosta), an orphaned peasant girl, who is hired to care for the sickly wife of landowner Don Pablo (Willy Semler). After his wife dies, Don Pablo seduces and impregnates the young girl. On the night she is about to give birth, he cruelly throws her out of the mansion and abandons her along the side of an isolated road. Anita is taken in by a tavern owner whose beautiful daughter Carmenzita (Patricia Lopez) attracts unwanted attention from Don Pablo. Anita soon hatches a daring plan to strike back at the dastardly landlord.
