Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
Roop K. Shorey directs his first film following India's bloody Partition -- which forced him to flee from his native Lahore to Bombay -- with this suspense thriller about an orphaned teenaged girl on the lam. When Meena (Meena Shorey) witnesses the murder and robbery of a wealthy businessman, she flees only to be nabbed by the cops for the crime. She escapes after the criminals themselves sweet talk the police into letting her go. Soon afterwards, the two crooks and Meena venture into a posh hotel. While temporarily living the good life, she spots another cop and flees again. This time she ends with the good hearted Ranjit (Motilal) who gives her a job and a secretary. Later, they fall in love.
