Synopsis
Atmospheric re-creations enhance this three-part chronicle of the Egyptian New Kingdom (c. 1560-1080 B.C.), "the first empire in recorded history" . Part 1 recalls the pharaohs who launched it, beginning with Ahmose, who expelled the occupying Hyksos and reunified Egypt. His successor: Hatshepsut. And her son Thutmosis III's campaigns in Nubia and the Levant resulted in "the greatest empire that had ever been conquered."
