As part of a broader attempt by the Hawaiian Legacy Foundationto sustain and preserve Hawaiian cultural recognition, History of the Sons of Hawaii is a documentary chronicling the rise of the 50th U.S. state's foremost 1960s pop band: Eddie Kamae and the Sons of Hawai'i. Interweaving archival footage, music clips, interviews and performance footage, History of the Sons of Hawaii chronicles the rise of this unique recording act and evaluates the role they played in the "Hawaiian cultural renaissance" of the early sixties, alongside such acts as Don Ho.
