Synopsis by Mark Deming

Two brothers eager to make their mark in show business find a back door into the movie game in this comedy. Luca (Alessandro Sampaoli) is an aspiring filmmaker who has been working on a script for an independent feature he wants to produce. But Luca can barely pay the rent on his apartment, let alone finance a movie, and he's sharing his tiny flat with his brother Mickey (Eric Alexander). Mickey is an actor eager to make his mark in the movie business, but hasn't had much more luck before the camera than his brother has behind it. Luca thinks he may have finally gotten his foot in the door when he gets a job at a dubbing studio, adapting the dialogue for imported soap operas so the new dialogue will better fit the lip movements. Luca offers to help Mickey get a job as a voice actor at the dubbing studio; Mickey doesn't like the idea, but his bank account overcomes his pride and he signs on as a dubbing actor, which takes his life in a number of unexpected directions. Dubble was the first feature film as writer and director from actor Eric Alexander.
