If being cool is not caring much about anything at all, Oozora Reiji is the coolest guy at his school. He never finishes a test, never does his homework, and certainly never shows up on time. He finds something to care about, however, when he is introduced to an experimental new virtual-reality game called Dragon Drive. In this game, the player has a dragon that fights, performs feats, and grows stronger. Oozora gets a small, white dragon named Chibisuke the first time he plays, but this dragon is much more powerful than a beginner's dragon should be. Soon, Oozora is summoning up more effort than he's ever used in his life as he and Chibisuke fight their way out of the virtual world they've been trapped in, where the harms are real and so is potential death. It will require a trust between Oozoraand his dragon that will seal them as friends and partners, though no one can say what will happen to either of them when the game ends.
