Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Marijuana and heroin are found stashed in a small plane that crashed in the San Fernando Valley, but the mysterious absence of a pilot (eyewitness accounts described a man limping away from the scene) leads Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) to jump into action. Asking reporters to hold off on printing the story for the time being, the pilot is quickly located, though he refuses to divulge the drop location to police. When Friday and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) inform the pilot that the drug dealers will certainly kill him when the stash doesn't make the drop and no story of the crash appears in papers, the fearful suspect tells all. Staking out the site, officers quickly arrest the suspects, one of whom refuses to talk while insisting that the other is a deaf-mute. Tricking the alleged deaf-mute into speaking, the officers get the men to identify the dealer and it isn't long before all involved are sent to jail.
