This picture starts out like many a Western -- the main character, in this case, Drag Harlan (William Farnum), comes across a dying man, here called Lane Morgan (Herschell Mayall). Morgan's last request is that Harlan protect his daughter Barbara (Jackie Saunders) and his newly discovered gold mine from the hands of the wicked Luke Deveny (G. Raymond Nye) and his outlaw gang. Hayden does as asked, but getting the job done involves a lot of shootin' and killin' several bad guys. Deveny, like the usual Western villain, kidnaps Barbara and Hayden rescues her from the typical rickety cabin. In spite of the mustiness of the tale, Farnum and director J. Gordon Edwards somehow gave it enough excitement to make it a solid programmer.
