Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
A melodramatic musical from beginning to end, this song-filled story of romance in all its glory may rely too much on singing and not enough on ringing dialogue or a distracting travelog, or a nasty demagogue to alleviate its melodies and their mundanities. Poor poetics aside, this oft-heard tale is about an Italian woman (Rosa Elena Durgel) who falls in love with a Spaniard (Carlos Agosti) and just when everything seems to be going well circumstances lead to a break-up. Loneliness and heartache rule the day -- and for awhile, it seems like the day will never end.
