Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

This documentary profiles the life and work of famed 20th-century photographer and early feminist Dorothea Lange. Much of Lange's work has been highly influential; her powerful images evoke the turmoil and passion of the social times she chronicled. Her Depression Era pictures are particularly evocative. She was also noted for her politically charged photographs of American Japanese incarcerated in U.S. concentration camps during WWI. Included in the film are interviews with her sons. Lange herself, narrates part of the film.
