Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Christine (Ethel Clayton) is raised out West by her father, James Brent (Joseph Herbert), who is a fugitive from justice. The well-heeled Maurice Maxwell (Montagu Love) wants to marry her and bring her to the East, but she turns him down. Instead she falls in love with Carl Randolph (Edward Langford), who she has saved from a band of vengeful Mexicans. She gives him some money, and he leaves town to make a success of himself as a lawyer in New York. Brent is injured, and Christine finally accepts Maxwell's proposal for his benefit. But Brent commits suicide, and Christine finds herself stuck with a cruel-tempered husband. When she meets up with Randolph, they are reminded of their romance. Maxwell swindles an inventor, Brinkerhoff (George Morgan), and Metta, his wife (Muriel Ostriche), murders him. An understanding jury finds her innocent, while Christine and Randolph are reunited.
