Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

He works as a bartender, which is an unlikely enough occupation in a nominally Muslim country. He is also a dwarf, which is a difficult fate anywhere. In this tragic drama, the hero (Mevlut Demiryay) lives in a really dangerous neighborhood, protected only by a police whistle he wears around his neck. One day on the way home from work he spies a young prostitute being savagely beaten, and blows his whistle. This scares off the attacker, and he takes the battered woman (Fikret Kuskan) to his home to tend her wounds and get her back on her feet. To his immense surprise, the female hooker is in fact a male transvestite. His first instinct is to lash out with disgust, but the smart-mouthed prostitute taunts him into taking him/her more seriously. Before long, he discovers to his surprise that, however unlikely the hooker is for the role, she/he is his best friend.
