Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Jack Bannister (Jack Hoxie) returns to his home in Mexico to find his best friend murdered in this well-made Universal Western. The sheriff has arrested old Jose Remado (William Welsh) for the killing, but Jack is not convinced of the man's guilt. In order to get to the truth, Jack disguises himself as a Mexican peasant, and, with the assistance of the innocent man's daughter, Ynez (Cathleen Calhoun), frees Remado from jail. The real murderer, Latham (Duke Lee), is not too happy with this turn of events and kidnaps Ynez. A furious chase ends in the obligatory showdown, with Jack emerging as the winner. Hoxie ranged just below the studio's top cowboy ace, Hoot Gibson, and well ahead of such newcomers as Ted Wells, Fred Humes, and Curley Witzel.
