Synopsis by Alice Day
Children with dyslexia have difficulty in classrooms, not due to a lack intelligence, but because their learning approaches are different from the norm. In the past, they have been ridiculed, but new methods for teaching dyslexic students have been developed. Two guests on Doctor Is In: Dyslexia discuss recent findings regarding dyslexia, and the challenges encountered in dealing with the condition. The Doctor Is In series has won many awards, including recognition from the National Health Information Awards and the AMA's International Health & Medical Film Festival.
