Synopsis by Hal Erickson
As the Iranian hostage situation began to fade from memory in the mid-1980s, American "art" cinemas were more responsive to films produced in Iran. Frosty Roads is a leisurely-paced culture-shock drama. The scene is a tiny Iranian village, blighted by poverty. When the medicine supply runs out, someone must volunteer to venture out into the "big" world to replenish the supplies. Selected for this hazardous task is a schoolmaster, his favorite student, and a humble laborer.
