Harold Lockwood starred in this typical one-reel society melodrama from the pioneering Selig Polyscope Company. Produced entirely in Los Angeles, the film depicted two contrasting marriages: one involving Eugenie Besserer and Henry Otto (a failure because of the latter's infidelity), the other, Lockwood's union with Amy Trask, happy and devoted. House director Lem Parker worked from a script by Malcolm Douglas. Leading lady Eugenie Besserer, who often portrayed mothers, was known as the "Ellen Terry of the Screen." The highlight of her long film career came as Al Jolson's mother in the groundbreaking The Jazz Singer (1927).
