Synopsis by Jinko Labitag
Disclosure is a documentary that centers on American media’s depiction of the lives and experiences of transgender people. With film and television footage from as early as 1914 to as recent as 2018, as well as intimate interviews with transgender icons such as Laverne Cox, MJ Rodriguez, Chaz Bono, Lilly Wachowski, and Jamie Clayton, the film reveals the perils of telling the stories of the transgender community without the participation of its members, but at the same time, how freeing visual media is if it is used to elevate transgender voices. Directed by Sam Feder.
