The Deutsche Opera Berlin mounted this sprawling stage production of Richard Strauss's three-act opera Die Liebe der Danae (1937) in 2011. The cast features Manuela Uhl as Danae, Mark Delavan as Jupiter, Matthias Klink as Midas and Thomas Blondelle as Merkur; The Berlin Deutsche Opera Chorus and Orchestra provide symphonic accompaniment, under the direction of chorus master William Spaulding and the baton of Andrew Litton; Bernd Damovsky designed the sets, Dorothea Katzer created the costumes and Kirsten Harms directs for the stage.
