Synopsis by Tracie Cooper

This official BBC production takes a look at the tragic life of and death of the much celebrated Princess Diana of Wales . Pushed unwittingly into ridiculously intense public scrutiny at 19-years-old, Diana's marriage into Britain's royal family catapulted her from relative obscurity to the most photographed woman in the world. Princess Di was well known for her work with AIDS patients, the homeless, and hapless land-mine victims; much of that compassion is captured in this program. Rather than focusing on the gossip surrounding Diana's stay inside the legendary Buckingham Palace, this particular production hones in on Diana's many charitable endeavors, and reflects on the legacy she left behind.
