Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Milton Rosmer, later a prolific British film director, stars in Diamond Necklace. Based on the oft-imitated story by Guy de Maupassant, the film casts Rosmer and Jessie Winter as lovers who endure a decade of self-sacrificing poverty. They do this in order to replace a lost valuable necklace. In the end, their grand gesture proves futile. If a print of Diamond Necklace could be located, it is likely that a modern audience wouldn't be able to get past the cast list, what with such supporting players as "Johnny Butt" and "John Peachey".
