Elie Wiesel is a Holocaust survivor, Boston University professor, and Nobel Laureate who's written over 40 books. He joins Richard Heffner for this ten-part discussion series in an effort to analyze some of the modern world's most controversial topics. Many viewers may recognize Heffner as the host of the highly respected television series Open Mind. Each specific topic explored by these two men is reviewed in regard to the moral and ethical values that govern most societies. This episode of Dialogues examines the arguments that are considered by countries that must decide whether they have a duty to help others around the world who are suffering. The program is filmed in front of a studio audience.
