Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This routine, independently made melodrama was offered on a state's rights basis. Although Rose Hill (Louise Lee) has a sweetheart, Bob Perry (Frank Williams), Neil Drake (Harold Foshay) persists in wooing her. Gossips begin talking about Rose and Drake, and finally Perry gives one of the busybodies a sound thrashing. Later, the man is found dead and Perry is put on trial for his murder. Drake actually killed the man in self-defense, but he keeps quiet, since he wants Rose for himself. Perry is sentenced to death, and the governor refuses to hear the pleas for his clemency. Two children find Drake's cap in a brook near the murder scene, and Perry's sister, Kate, begins to suspect the truth. She wheedles it out of Drake by enticing him to play with a Ouija board. Its revelations (all made with Kate's help) scare him into confessing. Kate gets him to put it down on paper and makes a wild ride to the governor's office. She arrives in the nick of time to save her brother.
