Destiny's Skein (1915)

Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The ever-fading Lubin Film corporation tried to keep its head above water by cranking out such forgettable efforts as the 3-reel Destiny's Skein. Apparently based on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the story deals with a young man suffering from a split personality, resulting from a childhood illness. Despite his kindly demeanor, the hero continues to exhibit Hyde-like behavior throughout the picture, which results in several short jail terms. The repetitive plotline is mercifully cut short when a prominent physician tries to cure the hapless protagonist. The cure "sticks," enabling the hero to win the love of the heroine -- who, by now, is as worn out as the audience.
