Synopsis by Leslie Birdwell
From Season Three of Debbie Travis' Painted House, Episode 308 shows an ordinary dining room transformed into a dramatic and congenial atmosphere by transporting it to sangre de toro Spain. Debbie Travis shows show to frottage (to rub with a piece of paper) the wet walls with pieces of newspaper for a ceramic tile look and to deck a chandelier with small, fringed velvet-covered shades that recall Spanish lace. She also shows a technique to make the room look a bit larger with a leather-look mirror created by overlaying a wooden frame with various materials and paints for texture, depth, and color.
