This musical based on a true story centers around a heroine of the Revolutionary War named Mary Lindley Murray, who was ordered by General Washington in 1776 to detain British soldiers in her Manhattan mansion, and did so - by serving them wine and cake, while her household full of mischievous ladies sought to distract the men in all manner of ways.
